"It's gonna RAIN, rain down fire...!!" (Part 2: Israel burns)

In 1970, 48 African-Americans of a group called The Original African Hebrew-Israel Nation of Jerusalam, also called African Hebrew-Israelites, arrived in the State of Israel in the strong and sincere belief that, as the true descendants of the ancient Hebrews, they were returning home. Interestingly, and perhaps strangely [but not to them], they were allowed into Israel under Israel’s Law of Return. The reader can easily find information about them and study them for yourself.

Decades ago, in the 1980s, the group, filled to the brim with talented entertainers, created a very powerful musical Gospel production entitled, Gospel in the Holy Land. Below is a short video segment of that production, in which they’re singing, It’s gonna rain!! The song, primarily, is about the “raining down of fire,” meaning the raining down of the Word of God.

But, also, and quite consciously, it is a song sung, in part, as a warning about the coming of World War III, if humanity did not correct itself. The African Hebrew-Israelites also sung the song as a warning to the State of Israel that, one day, Israel would experience the raining down of fire [See Mahmood OD video below] if it did not adhere to “The Law of God.”

Back in the 1980s, I hung out—heavily—with the Chicago camp of the African Hebrew-Israelites. They explicitly told me that they believed that their migration to Israel was a grand sign that humongous changes—including dangerous ones—were on the horizon. And that the State of Israel had better “wake up in righteousness.” And that, if it did not do so, it would be faced with “the Wrath of God.”

As I watched Iranian missles “raining down” on military facilities in Israel, oil-refining plants, and other sensitive Israeli facilities, I instantly started thinking about that line in the song, “It’s gonna rain, rain down fire, it’s gonna rain!” Also below is a video of Mahmood OD in which he shows actual videos, taken by people in Israel this weekend, of the Iranian missiles raining down and hitting their targets, each one lighting the sky as if fireballs are raining down. “…rain down fire, it’s gonna rain!…”

To those unfamiliar with Black American religious and spiritual traditions, it may seem very strange that a group of people would happily sing about an impending mass destruction. This has to be understood in a deeply spiritual sense. In a world of mass chaos, when “The Most High,” as Hebrew-Israelites would refer to God, brings down His punishment on earth, it is not a time for mourning and fear. It is a time to rejoice and have confidence that the Most High has everything in His Divine Hands, and that a new Divine Order, on earth, would follow the raining down of fire.
